Could Samsung be in deep legal trouble soon? According to Mohamed Hassan, a computer security expert, his commercial anti-virus software detected a virus with the name of “StarLogger”. This virus tracks all keys that the user presses, apparently even passwords; most key-loggers usually send this information to third-party groups. When Hassan spoke with a Samsung representative, the representative said that these key-loggers were intentionally installed on the machines. The reason they were installed, the representative said, was to “Monitor the performance of the computer”. Likely story, but key loggers do not have anything to do with performance, so if you just bought a Samsung computer, then you should get come commercial grade anti-virus software installed immediately.
