3 Reasons the Ice Cream Sandwich leak is faked

I know many of you Android fans were more than a bit disappointing in the "leaked" photos of Ice Cream Sandwich, but fear not. As I was scrolling through the comments section on Engadget, I found a few good reasons that this is a fake and not the real deal.

1. The build number.

As shown on one of the photos, the build number for this is supposed to be 2.6.35.7. Honeycomb's build is 2.6.36, or newer than the one demonstrated in the photos. That would either mean this version of the software was built before honeycomb (which wouldn't make any sense as honeycomb has been out for over 6 months) or that it is faked. Also Ice Cream Sandwich was reputed to be built off of the Linux 3.0 kernel, and this obviously is not.

2. Android Version Number.

And that's it. The Android Version number is supposed to be just that, a number, such as 2.2 or 2.3. In the photos you can clearly see that there was no build number and instead read IceCreamSandwich. This may have been because no version number has been released as to what Ice Cream Sandwich will be- 2.4 or 4.0. Point is nobody knows and if somebody manufactured this photo they wouldn't have known either- so they just put what it is called.

3. UI elements.

As Google has told us, Ice Cream Sandwich is the Android version that will bring Honeycomb and Gingerbread together. Unfortunately, this leaked photo has none of the visual cues and flair featured in honeycomb, instead looking more like a small update to gingerbread. Also we were told that Ice Cream Sandwich would run on both tablets and phones, and if this were to run on a tablet it would look absoulutely horrible.
