Comparison of Top Smartphones

Contestants-
HTC Evo 4G
Motorola Atrix 4G
HTC Thunderbolt
iPhone 4

Construction-

HTC Evo 4G- Unibody metal construction, but slightly large. 8/10

Motorola Atrix 4G-Plastic construction, yet feel solid. 7/10

HTC Thunderbolt- Also unibody metal construction, and hefty to hold. 8/10

iPhone 4- Aluminum frame and glass back. Looks great and breaks easily. 7/10

The Evo's, iPhone 4's, and the Thunderbolt's construction are much higher quality than the Atrix's rather plasticy feel. However the iPhone 4's construction ranks behind the other two's because of the glass back panel, which is prone to breaking.

Processor speed

HTC Evo 4G- 1ghz Snapdragon 1st gen. 6.5/10

Motorola Atrix- NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core 1ghz. 9.5/10

HTC Thunderbolt- 1ghz Snapdragon 2nd gen. 7/10

iPhone 4- 1ghz A8. 6.5/10

The Atrix's processor is lighning fast and almost never exhibits a lag or a blip. The rest of the phones lag behind, though the Thunderbolt is ranked slightly ahead due to its newer model.

Network Speed

HTC Evo 4G- Sprint 4G. 7.5/10

Motorola Atrix- AT&T 4G. 7/10

HTC Thunderbolt- Verizon LTE. 9/10

iPhone 4- AT&T 3G. 6/10

This is the one area where the thunderbolt really excels. Its Verizon LTE is crazy fast- almost as fast as broadband at home. The iPhone 4 stays behind due to its lowly 3G.

Screen

HTC Evo 4G- 4.3 inch capacitative touch screen with 480 x 800 pixels. 7/10

Motorola Atrix- 4 inch capacitative touch screen with 960 x 540 pixels. 8.5/10

HTC Thunderbolt- 4.3 inch capacitative touch screen with 480 x 800 pixels. 7/10

iPhone 4- 3.5 inch capacitative touch screen with 960 x 640 pixels. 9/10

The iPhone 4's screen is the best around in pixel density with its retina display, while the Atrix is close behind. The Evo and the Thunderbolt's pixels are really visible next to the other two's.

Overall

Evo- 29/40

Atrix-32/40

Thunderbolt- 31/40

iPhone- 28.5

The Atrix comes out on top by a slim margin.
