Want to Jailbreak 4.3.1? Now is the time.

That's right, multiple iOS developer teams have released multiple jailbreaking tools for any iDevice, with the exclusion of the iPad 2. But what if it's your first time jailbreaking and you have some questions, then head over to our jailbreaking guide for beginners and have the most common questions about jailbreaking answered.

If you are ready to jailbreak, this is how you do it.
  1. Download Redsn0w, from here. (I know there are other options, but Redsn0w is the fastest and one of the simpler ways to do it, if you want to preserve you base band (in order to do a carrier unlock) then use snowbreeze) (If you are on a mac, go to the bottom of the post to get mac download links)
  2. Make sure you have the 4.3.1 firmware file (.ipsw) you can get it from the iTunes download folder which is
    1. For Windows:  C:\Users\~username~\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates                     (enter your username for ~username~)
    2. For Mac: ~username~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/
    3. The last folder name is the name of your iDevice ex. iPad Software Update or iPhone Software Update
  3. Update your iDevice to  4.3.1 via itunes
  4. Run Redsn0w and follow the directions on screen!
  5. When you are prompted with the screen with multiple check boxes at the bottom of the program, make sure that only Install Cydia is selected, DO NOT SELECT ANYTHING ELSE.
  6. After that step just follow the directions of the program.

There you go, simple wasn't it? Now go on to Google and search about all the things you can do with jailbreaking!
